Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website and learning more about my offerings.
The journey of self-discovery begins with the body. Our bodies are a storehouse of infinite wisdom. Living IN your body and listening to its wisdom begins with the breath. Focusing on your breath leads you deeper inside your body, where you can connect to your true feelings, thoughts, and intentions. My yoga classes will guide you to breathe mindfully, connect to your core, and move from your heart in order to actively transform your body and mind from the inside out. You will feel empowered and find a greater sense of strength, harmony, and ease as you engage fully with your life both on and off the mat.BACK TO TOP

“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.”
—Wayne W. Dyer
Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga
I teach a style of yoga called Core Strength Vinyasa, developed by Sadie Nardini. In a Core Strength Vinyasa class with me, you will focus on the core of your yoga on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energetic. The focus in Core Strength Vinyasa is to build poses from the ground up and from the inside out. You’ll move through and into poses with more core-generated alignment, thereby burning more calories, and building strength, flexibility, and self-awareness.
This yoga helps to align you physically as well as emotionally and energetically to your deep core, your true self. It strengthens you and makes you more resilient to life’s challenges on and off the mat. It allows you to come closer to the yogic practice of experiencing the outside world while existing from your inner strength.
What to Expect: My classes are different every time—vinyasa’s strength is in its openness. There are no set sequences that a class must perform; which means classes can be tailored to achieve goals that we can set together or to your mood. But, in general I begin each class with breathing techniques to focus the mind and then gradually move from gentle movements into more energetic poses. Classes end with resting poses to help integrate your practice more deeply into your mind and body.
What to Wear: Core Strength Vinyasa yoga involves a lot of movement so you can expect to sweat in class, which helps expel toxins and re-energizing the body. Wear something that will be comfortable to move in and that breathes.
What to Bring: Water J You should try and stay hydrated throughout the class. All other equipment will be provided (mats, blocks, cushions, etc.).
ALL LEVELS WELCOME!
Hour Power! This 60-minute rigorous class will challenge you with demanding strength postures as you move, breathe, and sweat more deeply and intensely than ever before. Power yoga burns calories, tones and strengthens the body, and clears the mind. We focus on the breath as the tool for centering, grounding, and unlocking your limitless potential. You will discover a greater sense of empowerment for living an authentic and extraordinary life.
Yin Yoga is a quiet yoga composed of long, deep stretches held for extended periods of time. Yin gently stretches the connective tissues, targeting the hips, pelvis and lower spine in a simple practice. The poses are mostly passive floor postures. I incorporate the use of props to support the body and deepen the benefits of the poses. Yin Yoga helps to cultivate the habit of slowing down, paying attention and listening to your body, your mind, and the soothing sound of your breath. Yin goes hand in hand with the practice of mindfulness and helps to fine-tune the various skills that bring us back to the here and now. It also promotes emotional clearing and deep physical openings. It’s a great compliment to the more active (yang) types of yoga like Core Strength Vinyasa and Power Yoga. The benefits are numerous, but my favorite part is that it feels like you just got an hour-long massage!
“Yoga is not about touching your toes, it’s about what you learn on the way down.”
-Judith Hanson Lasater

“It took only two lessons for Fernanda to become one of my all-time favorite yoga teachers and I’d recommend her for beginners and experienced students alike. Her lessons are thoroughly built and beautifully composed, challenging my limitations in a subtle way. Her teaching style is clear and inspired, leading the way while giving space for my individual experience on the mat. Afterwards I have the impression that every part of my body, every aspect of my moving being has been considered.”
“Fernanda is an excellent yoga instructor! She is really good at assessing where you are and how you are feeling each time on the mat and catering the moves to your needs. Her style is comforting yet challenging. I always feel rejuvenated and balanced after each class.”
